He is obnoxious, arrogant and rude. This is a standalone but does have a connection with Zane from the Inked Brotherhood series, where the main character in this, Matt, appears briefly in Zane – this is not necessary to read first, but its a fab series so I recommend you read them anyway!! A figure on horseback rounded the bend, the terrified rider hanging on for dear life as her horse galloped out of control, reins dangerously askew. Halfway into our outing, as we were riding along in the otherwise quiet forest, we heard screaming-unmistakably a woman’s voice. One interview took place on horseback up in the mountains, an off-the-grid location where that particular source felt comfortable speaking. Some interviews took place in sources’ homes, others in the anonymity of roadside diners. In reporting this book I sat for hundreds of hours with sources who recounted to me situations of sheer pandemonium and chaos entwined with the human will to survive and the intellectual challenge of not giving up hope. I loved that Chris was by my side and able to come out again and share in the moment and hang out w/ me too. I’m so thankful I just got to hang out w/ my parents, and just be with them. As I get older and look back and see how much time has gone by to how many days I have to look forward to - not so much the # of days but more in being sure I’m grateful for the moment I have right now. This time the moments meant so much more- maybe because I’m not so sure when the next time I’ll get to share a day, a conversation, a meal. ![]() It’s like having a little piece of Michigan with me all the time.
